COACHES

Erica Bodker

— 14R Coach

Hi, My name is Erica Bodker, I’ve moved to WV from Texas 3 years ago. I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security and Information Assurance at WGU; I’m also a mother of three and have been married for over 14 years. With this comes a unique understanding of the value of teamwork, dedication, and nurturing growth.

With a passion for volleyball deeply ingrained in my Texan roots, I’ve embarked on an incredible journey that led me to the Mountain Monsters Volleyball Club. With years of experience playing but also as the Head Coach for both Cross Lanes Christian Middle School and Varsity teams, I’ve honed my skills in shaping athletes into not only exceptional players but also well-rounded individuals. Born in Texas, where they say everything is bigger, I bring that same larger-than-life enthusiasm to every practice, match, and player interaction. My love for volleyball is surpassed only by my desire to witness players evolve and thrive. There’s a unique joy in observing someone master a new skill and achieve their goals, and that’s the driving force behind why I love coaching. I’m committed to imparting not only the technical intricacies of volleyball but also emphasizing the significance of off-court essentials like weight lifting and nutrition. At Mountain Monsters Volleyball Club, I am thrilled to unite my devotion to the game with my unwavering dedication to fostering individual and collective growth. Together, we’ll serve, set, and spike our way to success, celebrating every milestone achieved both within the game and in life.

Cassidy Johnson

— 14R Coach

Coach Cassidy Johnson is excited to join the Mountain Monsters coaching staff this season! She grew up in the Upper Kanawha Valley, where she continues to live and work in hopes of giving back to the community she has always called home. She aims to provide more volleyball opportunities and help athletes from the area by developing and improving their skills on and off the court. She would also like to focus on helping these young athletes build relationships with other players throughout the state.
Cassidy is a 2016 graduate of Riverside High School and 2020 graduate from Marshall University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education. She currently beginning her 3rd year as a History teacher at Riverside High School, where she is also the Student Council advisor.
Cassidy began her coaching career in 2020 at Cedar Grove Middle School and has recently transitioned to coaching at Riverside High School. Her love for volleyball began during her time at Cedar Grove Middle School and grew as she played at Riverside High School as a Setter/Right Side Hitter, along with four years of travel ball.
If Cassidy is not in the gym with her team and fellow coaches, she spends time with her family and two dogs, Maggie and Gracie. She also loves to travel, study history, and ride side by sides. She looks forward to beginning her new adventure with Mountain Monsters Volleyball Club!
